Perhaps using my existing yahoo email account? I REALLY need to receive a fax from someone.... any way you can think of short of buying a fax machine.

I've had good experiences with eFax.

www.efax.com

They have a free account option. You do have to download their software (free) to see the eFax, however.

The way it works is that they give you a fax #. When someone sends you a fax there, it automatically gets digitized and forwarded to your email address. From your email, you receive it as an attachment which you can view/print from your computer.

Keep in mind that the fax # they give you will likely be some area code far away so the sender might have to dial long distance to send the fax. Another thing I learned the hard way is that if you go over your monthly limit of pages per month (20 pages per fax #), they will shut down your fax # or ask you to upgrade to a paid account. If you don't go over, you're fine.

The only negative about the eFax is that they send a lot of emails to you trying to get you to upgrade your service. If you don't mind hitting "delete," it's better than paying for a fax machine and tying up your phone line to get a fax.

It's very reliable and it also makes it easy to file your faxes electronically on your computer instead of a hard copy fax.

You can try Efax http://www.efax.com Or, http://www.winfax.com

The other solution would be for the person to include the fax as an attachment and send it to you in your yahoo email.

Hope that helps.

Have them scan whatever the fax is onto there computer and send it to your email as an attachment. Then you can print at will, and it is free.
