I am trying to conceive and now I have stopped taking my birth control pills. I haven't tooken them since Dec. 17th. I was just wondering- does your period mess up after you stop taking birth control because I was suppose to start my period on the 9th but still no period. Should I assume that my period is just messed up and wait or should I take a pregnancy test? I find it kind or hard to believe that I am pregnant because I don't really feel any different and I heard it can take 3 months or longer to get pregnant after taking birth control.

Yes your period could be different now that you are not on BC. Im only saying this from my own experience. I stopped taking my BC pills in Nov and thought I could have been pregnant because I thought I was late. But I just came to realize that my cycle is not 28-29 days like it was while on BC. It is now more like 33-34 days, the BC just made it more regular.
The whole 3 months thing I think is just what is told to people to get their cycles back to the pre birth control norm. and for you to adjust to that. It is possible you could be pregnant but if you are still not getting your period then you could always take a test just to be sure......Good Luck

It all depends on the women, I stop taken birth control in late Aug so it has been 3 months since i am been off and I had 2 normal periods and then one that was 18 days late, this month I really think that I am pregnant(got a faint positive) going to to the docs to confirm, I would go ahead and take a pregnancy test, it won't hurt anything, Best of Luck.

Everyone is different...it has been known for some women to get pregnant right away after stopping the pill. If your not feeling period symptoms and it is not on time, it would not hurt to take a test to make sure. Good luck with your efforts!

It could possibly be, but just to be safe you should test. Good Luck!
