How do you help a turtle learn to swim?

I ust want to know if your turtle is getting used to lower water, is there any way to teach it to swim more or float better?

he is a turtle it will come natural unless it is a box turtle or some type of tourtis but if your sure its a water turtle he knows already what he wants to do

If your turtle is not swimming well it may be ill. Turtles automatically swim in a good habitat.

1. Check to make sure your turtle is a water turtle!
2. Have a gently sloping shoreline that your turtle can easily climb, so he can get out of the pond without a struggle.
3. If you've taught your turtle to eat floating bits of spinach or other leafy vegetable, put a bit of it into the pond the first time you introduce him to the pond.

He should be just fine.

turtles more then likely no how to swim but if you don't feel ok about it ,then you can just take it in the bathroom wall you do your thing and fill the water up in the sink so you can watch it swim ok

OK, you know there are aquatic turtles and land turtles, don't you? Please don't kill a land turtle by trying to "teach" it to swim. If you have a turtle and do not know what to do with it read up on the topic. They are very sensitive creatures.

Swimming is pretty instinctive to animals, just let him be and he'll eventually get it on his own.
