Well, I'm 17 years and a half! I'm able to retract my foreskin when my penis isn't erect, but I can't when it is even though I can retract my foreskin halfway of the head and that is it so should I see a doctor?!

Since you can retract it while unerect, you may want to try something before going to the doctor's. While this condition still qualifies as phimosis, it's very mild and you should be able to take care of it with stretching exercises without needing to go to the doctor's.

One basic stretching exercise is as follows. Take two fingers and stretch the foreskin opening as far as it'll go without pain (like increasing its radius) by hooking a finger on either side of the opening. This is a little hard to describe and may take a few tries to get right. It's best done right after a shower. Do this exercise for a few minutes a day for a few weeks to a month.

In the majority of cases this works. If it doesn't, consult your doctor about prescription creams that're supposed to help, especially when combined with stretching exercises. If after another month or so and this fails, then consider surgical options (see one of the links for more info). Note that circumcision is WAY too extreme in your case, and disregard anyone who suggests that unless all options have failed, and you're willing.

You can certainly visit a urologist for an evaluation. You can also try gently trying to retract the foreskin a little more each time to gradually stretch the skin until it will completely retract, using baby oil or some other lubricant while you do it. It will take a while to stretch the skin, so be patient and don't try to get it done all at once. It will take weeks or months of this to stretch the skin. You can opt for a circumcision, of course, but this is not a pleasant procedure for a young man of your age. Circumcision of anyone over the age of a few days is a more complex procedure with it's own set of complications. The doctor will need to guesstimate the amount of skin he removes, and you will have stitches under the head while it all heals. You will be very miserable for at least a week to 10 days afterwards, and tender for weeks after that. If you truly have phimosis, and the skin can't be stretched, this would be the only option, but first I would try the gentle method to see. The foreskin is retracting, just not as far as it should, and with encouragement you will likely be able to solve your trouble. Be patient and try it first.

Circumcision is almost NEVER indicated for phimosis. If simple stretching does not work, ask your doctor for some steroid cream to help the process along. But keep your foreskin intact - it's a major source of pleasure.

Yes, go to the doctor. It should retract automatically when you become erect.

Hi..Yes, go see a doctor....he/she may be able to offer advice about how to correct this without surgery...if not, I am sure the procedure would be pretty simple...don't let embarrassment hold you back from going, they've seen it all before!!
