Both at the top of their game. Who would win a game of one-on-one?

A lot of idiots thought that Julius Erving would beat Kareem Abdul-Jabbar one on one for the same reasons given above... yet, when they DID play one on one, Jabbar destroyed the Intern.

Wilt would do the same to Jordan. The idea that Wilt didn't dribble when he played for the Globetrotters is absurd. He led fast breaks and was famous for his behind the back passes off the dribble while leading the break.

Wilt was able to lead the NBA in scoring, rebounding and assists. Jordan was just a scorer.

Also, Wilt was (at the very worst) the second best defensive player of all time, and in all probability was the best. Wilt would have averaged a triple double for his career had blocked shots been an official NBA stat during his career.

Of course, the question itself is ridiculous.

With all due respect to the legen Wilt "The Stilt" Chamberlain, I think Sir Air Jordan would most likely beat him. In a team game, Wilt would be unstopable. At the low post.. no one could take him. But, Michael has the entire package. He can play defense, steal the ball, he has incredibull speed.. and can shoot jumpers and three pointers. It would be like saying who would win between Yao and Wade.. Or Shaq and Kobe. Remember, you cant BLOCK what you cant catch

That's an unfair comparison and it should in no way determine who's better.

Wilt Chamberlain is strictly center while MJ is a guard. That would never work. That's like making Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight Nikolai Valuev.

But in the end, MJ would probably win because he can handle better, shoot better and he'd steal the ball from Wilt on any attept Wilt would make to dribble.

Wilt.Wilt was dominant, only the Great Bill Russel could hope to contain him, and hes the greatest defender of all time. Dont forget Wilt is a good 6 inches taller than Jordan.

Jordan- Wilt is great and all, but not the best ball handler out there. With his height and no one feeding him the ball, Jordan will steal on just about every position. Come one now, can you REALLY see Wilt putting the moves on Jordan?

Are you kidding. Wilt of course. He averaged 50 points and 22 rebounds in ONE season. That is AMAZING. Besides he would block every shot MJ tried to shoot. Oh yeah what did MJ do? Only 30 points and 5 assists. Wilt can just back down so MJ doesn't steal the ball and basically demolish MJ. The only thing MJ does better than Wilt is 3 point shooting (only 35% - thats ok. Vince Carter shoots better than that. He shoots 37% for his career).
MJ is WAY overrated. The only reason people say he's good is because he's made game winning shots. He's not as amazing as people say.
