is it because lots of molecules are present in blood making it too hard to use blood testing?

There are too many risks with blood testing including shared needles etc. In fact, in a recent scare in an elementary school a teacher used the same puncture device to get all of the students' blood types. You can imagine the risks involved there.

Nobody faints at the sight of urine.

Seriously, though, it's because of concerns about transmitting blood-borne diseases. Even in college, our biology (300's level physiology) class had a 15-minute cautionary lecture before we were allowed to work with blood samples, and required full protective gear. Of course, by the time they finished with that nobody wanted to do the lab - except one smart aleck who said 'Gimme that HIV-infected stuff!" and royally annoyed the TA. (I'll let you guess who the smart-@ss was...)

Because of the stupid git of a teacher who made the whole class use the same lancet! School's liability insurance doesn't cover getting AIDS and hepatitis testing for a whole classroom.

We avoid handling blood in high school because of the risk of infection.
