When your water breaks, you must stop vaginal sex. Prior to that point, unless your OB/GYN tells you otherwise, you can continue to have intercourse without protection.

Seman does not cause preterm labor. The truth about sex is that when a woman reaches orgasm she can also have uterine contractions. This CAN lead to preterm labor, but usually only when your contractions have started.......unless you are having sex non-stop. but I dont think that even that would actuallly send a normal healthy pregnancy into preterm labor. If you are enjoying sex, continue to do so...

HI! Congratulations! I have 2 myself, anyway, you don't have to stop having sex if you don't want to. Sex doesn't cause preterm labor unless your already at risk and your doctor should have told you that. I heard that sex and playing with your nipples could start labor but that usually after your pretty close and who knows for sure. Some people say beans and castor oil starts labor to. Old wives tales!!! Unless your doctor has told you not to have sex you can have sex until delivery.

Shouldn't cause any problems. I'm more concerned about you not wanting to have sex but having done it 3 times this week.
Contact your OBGYN and ask. Have sex when you want to.
If you are both thinking that it's not a good idea for the baby, stop doing it until you talk to your doctor.
Good luck.

Well my friend was having sex around 5 months, and from what she said the sex was very uncomfortable, but there was no complications to the baby. I think it would have to be your choice about whether or not you should continue. I never heard about sperm putting a women into preterm labour, but you never know I guess.

I am 37 weeks pregnant, and the Dr. says to continue until I am in labor. The only time they would tell you not to have sex is if you are a high-risk patient, if it is too uncomfortable for you, and if you have had pre-mature labor before with another child.

My midwife told me it is fine up until my water breaks (when infection can occur), and as often as I want to have sex. The best thing is to do what feels right. As my midwife says...your body will warn you if something is not right before it actually has a harmful effect on the baby. Women are not fragile creatures while they are pregnant, we gotta be tough to make it through childbirth! Good luck to you!

Sex is fine right up to the day, as long as you have a healthy low risk pregnancy. Perfectly safe. Enjoy.

It is perfectly fine!!! Do not worry unless your pregnancy turns into something less than healthy and your doctor advises you to not have sex. DO NOT WORRY!
I had sex up until the last day for both pregnancies.

No, not true. Unless you are at high risk for pre term labor, it's okay to have sex. It will eventually help too when you get closer to your due date to induce labor. Good luck and keep having chichi!
