So I need help in attempting to go WiFi PC to WiFi PC, which also has a hardwire to the router, and internet. The goal is to run a wireless network with only the onboard WiFi, and one machine hardwired to the router. Can it be done, and how? Thanks.

you can, this kind of network is called an 'ad hoc' network.

in this case you aren't connecting directly to a router for internet access but instead the first wireless pc connects wirelessly to the second wireless pc which does have a connection to the internet.

it's basically just a case of setting up internet connection sharing on the internet connected machine then making the first machine connect to it wirelessly, using that machine for internet access.

microsoft has detailed but simple instructions for setting up an 'ad hoc' network using windows xp machines, it can be found here:

you would have to enable both network adapters on the hardwired computer to make a bridge to the Internet to share the connection with the Wi-Fi enabled PC. this will yield far less than optimum results for many reasons...

save yourself the headache and purchase a 802.11x wireless router

this is what I know...however it does not let the other wireless machine online.
your 'wired' ethernet properties needs the address that it automatically gets from the routers dhcp. you should login to your router and re-set the dhcp scope to start at 192.168.1.100 and end at 192.168.1.254.
That way you have a scope of your own to manually set static private ipaddresses to your wireless network cards (NIC's).
I havent done this with wireless, you will have to experiement. because there is no SSID set, I am not sure the two wireless NIC's will connect, as two 'wired' NIC's will, based on the following method.
on the 'wired' maching go to network connections in control panel and right click on the wireless connection - choose properties - and highlight internet protocol (tcp/ip) in the window and click the properties button. on the window that opens choose 'use the following...' and set an ipaddress of 192.168.1.20 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0
Then on the wireless pc go to the NIC's properties and get to the tcp/ip properties and set the ipaddress to 192.168.1.21 and the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
The two pc's may be able to connect with each other and use file sharing...so whatever the wireless pc needs from the internet can be downloaded from the internet on the 'wired' machine and saved to a shared folder.
