I am sick, so is my 2 year old. Everyone but dad is sick. My two year old is getting over it and so am I but my 5 months is taking a little longer. Should I be doing anything special besides letting it run it's course?

When my daughter was sick as a baby an older lady told us to rub vapo rub on her feet and then put socks on them. They make a baby vaporub for this. Not a whole lot though, just enough to coat the foot lightly. Also get a cool mist vaporizer and run it while your child is in the room. Another thing is try putting some blankets under the side of the bed you child sleeps on to raise it slightly to help the drainage. Hope this works.

Good Luck and God bless you and your family

You should take ur 5 month old to the doctor and let the doctor prescribe some medication. Then just do what the doctor says and go from there, I'm sure within a week or two your little one will be all better. Hope you all get well soon. GOOD LUCK!!!

If the baby is running a fever(they consider anything 101 or higher) definitely call your doctor. They will more than likely tell you use saline drops and a bulb for his nose. For the saline drops I use a pinch of salt mixed with some luke warm water. Put a couple drops in the nostril and use the bulb(or snot sucker like I like to call it). Humidifiers are great or you could steam up the bathroom and sit in there with the baby to help with congestion. And baby Tylenol or baby Motrin for the fever and to help them sleep. If the baby is having a hard time sleeping, you can put a pillow or wedge a blanket under the mattress in the crib to help elevate the head. Hope you all are feeling better!

Get a cool mist humidifier-they are cheap at walmart. Run that in the room the baby sleeps in and during the day wherever he's at. Keep him upright, it can be tricky at that age during sleep, but if he still fits in the bouncy chair or swing that works. Also vicks makes a baby vapo rub, rub that on his chest. I hope you have a boy since I typed "him" so much lol!

As long as he's not in distress and is feeding and sleeping fine - let it run it's course. Three days isn't bad to feel better. There's a saying - if you have a cold and leave it alone, you'll feel better in 7 days. If you treat it, it's a week.

as long as the baby isn't lethargic, have a high fever, or seems in real pain or uncomfortable I would just let it run its course.
