I usually have 26 day cycles but they can be 27 or 28. I am on cycle day 11 today, when should I ovulate? If I had sex tonight how long do the sperm last? If I think I ovulate on Saturday (cycle day 13) should I skip a day and do it Saturday or do it tonight and tommorow? Please help!!

I was on a 26 day cycle and I got pregnant day 9. It is usually 14 days before you start which would be day 12, go ahead hace sex tonight. Then try again tomorrow. Sperm can live up to 24 hours I have been told. Good Luck

Ovulation generally happens 14 days before your next period but can happen anywhere from 10-16 days. I would probably use 27 as average cycle length since you say they can sometimes be 27 or 28. Count back 16 days from 27--cycle day 11 starts your fertile period and ovulation should happen between day 11 and day 17 with day 13 being most likely. You should have intercourse every other day starting on day 11 thru day 17.

You can use the ovulation calculator at http://www.4women.gov/tools . It's very helpful, and this website has a ton of other good stuff on it too!!
Sperm can last up to 5 days after intercourse, if the conditions are right in your body. If you have a sticky egg-white like discharge, this means you are ovulating, and this is also the most hospitiable environment in which the sperm can survive.
