Hey guys.

I know how to make most of the special characters like:

√║∫±÷×°π²≤θⁿ¹ˉ³öφΔΣ ≈

But some people have posted questions that have set operators like:

x ∈ S ∩ T

Does anyone know how to make these characters? I don't see them in the Windows character map.

I'm actually specifically looking for the "member of" symbol, ∈. I found the intersection symbol, but the ∈ isn't anywhere in the Character Map that I can see. Makes me wonder what else isn't in there. Thanks to you guys for looking for me.

Actually...I found out my own answer tonight!

In Character Map, set the font to "Arial Unicode MS"....there's tons more characters there.

Hi Jim;

I've been able to find them in the windows character map. You need to find a font that has unicode representation. Click the box for 'advanced view' and use a font in which there open fields.

x ε S ∩ T,

I used 'Times New Roman' I realize that you want the element of operator, not the lower case epsilon. You'll need to look around for it. These symbols are also accessible in Excel and (maybe) Word. I just checked and there are symbols in Word. Awfully complicated, don't you think?

Hi Jim,

Let me try and return a favour (my maths question - thanks!)

Are you after greek symbols like epsilon and theta etc?

Because if so, just go to that section of Character Map (the bit where you set the font) and change it to "GreekC" or "Greek S"
and then paste it into what you're doing.

Hope this has helped!

Thanks,

Me x

Use the symbol font or wingdings, etc.
