the equation is saying that 6 x r is = 96. you are dividing 6 by each side.

6r=96

6/6=1
6/96=16

r=16

you divide both sides because you have to cancel out the 6

6r= 96
6/6 6/96=16 r=16

Let me make this easy for u. u have to try to get r byitself. by gettin r byitself u have to do the opposite. u have 6r and the opposite is r/6. The rule is whatever u do 2 1 side u do 2 the other so u have to divide six from the other side. in the end it looks like this.

6r=96
6r/6=96/6
r=16

step 2. r=96/6
step 3. r=16
step 4. 6(16)=96
step 5. 96=96
answer r=16

You need to do that because that is a rule and the rule it says ``balance the equation``. The value of r would be 16 because you divide 6 from 96 and 6 from 6.

Let's say you have 6 oranges. Each one of them has "r" seeds in it. In other words you don't know yet how many seeds are in each orange, so you use "r" to represent that unknown number. (You could also use "x" or "a" or any other letter--this is called an unknown variable.) But (according to the equation above) you do know that there are 96 seeds in all 6 oranges.

So, in this case, 6r means 6 times the number of seeds in one orange, and 1r equals the number of seed in one orange. That's what you're trying to find out--1r. So if you want to find out how many seeds are in one orange (we're pretending here that all the oranges have the same number of seeds in them) you'd divide the left side (6r) by 6 (that is, the number of seeds in 6 oranges divided by 6 equals the number of seeds in one orange.

And to find out how many that is, you look at the right side of the equation (96) and divide it by 6, too. 96 seeds divided by 6 equals 16 seeds.

Now you have the answer: 1r = 16. That is, the number of seeds in one orange = 16. If you get oranges with that many seeds, I'd look for a new grocery store.

ok this is excactly how u solve:

6r=96 6 divided into 96= 16. r=16

the reason u divide both side is because it just makes it simpler to solve.

Because "6" and "r" are next to each other, so that means you must multiply them to get the answer 96. The opposite of multiplying is dividing, so you must divide 96 by 6, because you donnot know what "r" is yet. So in the end, "r" equals the number you get when you divide 96 by 6.

sixty 5 x 6 = 390+ 50 x 11= 550= $940 actual, I in basic terms found out the achievable additions there must be to get an end form of 40. I however, properly the 50s are the two going to be a great determination with an ending of 00, or 50. After determining that if it have been 0, the finished 65s extra up necessary could finally end up with an volume of bushes below 17. then you definitely know it quite is an ending of fifty, subsequently the quantity of white spruces become even. From there, you in basic terms try the probabilities until you come across the excellent entire. desire this helps :)
