A cold is a virus, which is species specific, so no. Bacterial infections and some parasites can be transfered, however.

Edit: Guinea pigs can not catch colds. Colds are viral. You most likely had a bacterial infection that you thought was a cold and passed it on to them.

Some animals can, yes. I know guinea pigs for sure can catch human colds. I think other small animals are very prone to it as well. 2 of my guinea pigs actually died because I handled them while i had a cold (I didnt know at the time that they could catch it). As far as dogs and cats go, Im not too sure about them.

I don't believe so. It has been said that a dogs mouth is cleaner than a human's but only because humans are not affected by the "dog germs".
