Creative Zen Micro is excellent. It was the original....Apple ripped Creative off when the iPod came out.

You're supposed to do it, not someone else!

But why not take this approach?

A Why take an interest in the subject? -- because mp3 players have become immensely popular since the introduction of the ipod. They've changed the way people listen to music.

B Since the introduction of the ipod there have been many other mp3 players introduced, many of them with more features than the original ipod and considerably cheaper, though none has quite the fashionable image of the ipod.

Let's look at the things that make one better than another:

1. Does it look good?

2. Is it a "high status" model with a "big" name like i-pod?

3. How much memory has it got?

4. Is it easy to use?

5. Is it well-built?

6. Does it have a lithium-ion rechargeable battery?

7. Does it have a built-in radio?

8. Can it record as well as play?

9. Does it have a built-in speaker?

C Conclusion -- if it's only looks you're after and want to make a fashion statement, then the ipod is the one to have. On the other hand if you want a good mp3 player with far more features at a fraction of the price, you can import one directly from China for a fraction of the cost.

OK, how does that suit you?

Ipods are more restrictive for use because they need Itunes to download music (I don't know why they are so popular)
Ipods do not necessarily sound the best.
They do have the advantage of having the most accessories available but that is the only advantage.
I would never buy one. My son did and the licence between the unit and the PC got corrupted, now it is useless unless we send it back to Apple
