Mj is the best player ever but some people think he could defend Shaq one on one. He couldn't. How could he stop a 7 foot 350 pounder? Shaq would just dunk at will, almost never missing. MJ would score great himself but he would have to rely on some shots and such, and he would miss about 40% of them.

Good points about Shaq's ball handling skills. Never considered that.

Michael Jordan is definitely the most elite player ever. And no center, even the best (but Shaq isn't the best--he can't shoot free throws and his ball-handling isn't the greatest) could beat MJ. It would be a complete mismatch. Jordan would crush Shaq in a one-on-one. And to play in a one-on-one, you have to dribble, a lot.

THERE IS NO FREE THROWS IN ONE ON ONE.
Shaq would win. Shaq can just back down (which now means MJ wouldn't be able to steal the ball due to Shaq's ball handling skills). Shaq would dunk over and over again. Shaq ways a 120 pounds more than MJ. And again, MJ only shot 47% from the field and only 35% from three point land (which is ok- Vince Carter even shoots better than that. He shoots 37% for his career).
MJ is way overrated. He only averaged 29 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds. Sound familiar. DWade has better. 29 points, 8 assists, and almost 6 rebounds. So why is MJ overrated. Oh yeah he made game winning shots. Wilt averaged 50 points and 22 rebounds in ONE season.

THERE ARE NO FREE THROWS IN 1-ON-1!!!

There, now that that's out of the way... MJ would win. Shaq couldn't even get to the basket, and MJ could either: hit open shots all day, easily making enough steals to account for the very very few misses, or if Shaq comes out to guard him he could go around him for a reverse dunk and use the basket as a pick

theres a lot of things mj could do to stop shaq. first of all he could take a charge, u have to remember that shaq has to get in the post to and that give mj a lot of chances to steal the ball cuz all shaq can do is dribble, he cant like crossover or anything. then when shaq backs him down, mj could step away and let shaq stumble over. then theres mjs driving ability with his jumpshot. shaq would have difficulty guarding him from any area and would be forced to foul him when he drives in.

yea but how can shaq defend jordan? jordan will run circles around shaq. jordan is quicker than shaq and will blaze past him for a dunk or swish a 3. and jordan can guard shaq, alls he gotta do is steal if from him and since shaq dont take jumpshots that shouldnt be too hard. anyway when playing 1 on 1 shaq has to take it out from the top of the key so that means he has to dribble some, jordan can steal and score.

STUPID QUESTION. FIRST OFF BASKETBALL IS A TEAM GAME. ALSO SAY EACH PLAYER GETS 10 POSSESSIONS EACH. MJ FOULS SHAQ EVERYTIME. HE GETS 20 FREE THROWS AND MAKES EHH 60% SO HE GETS 12 POINTS. JORDAN GETS 10 POSSESIONS SHOOTES 50% BECAUSE SHAQ WOULD NEVER BE IN HIS FACE. HE HITS 3 THREE POINTERS AND 2 TWO POINTERS. 12 TO 13 MJ WINS. JORDAN WOULD PRLY SHOOT BETTER THEN 50 AS WELL. HE HAS PRLY SHOT A BALL MILLBIZZIOL TIMES I THINK HE CAN HIT A SHOT WIDE OPEN AT LEAST 60% OF THE TIME

mj would kill shaq in a wheel chair.. mj wouldn't have any problems stealing the ball.. that's a long ways to back someone that fast down to get close enough for a dunk.. that's all shaq can do.. and i praise him for doing it.. back a guy down and dunk it hard.. it works, makes a lot of money, and makes him one of the best centers ever..

my opinion is shaq would lose because mj could hit a lot of 3s but still shaq could block 60% of those shots but i still think mj could whup him
