What would you call this type of person?

His name is Eddie. He wears weird flannel shirts with jeans everyday. He wears glasses, and when he broke them he put them together with duct tape. He took notes on who said what to him regarding his glasses. He is an extreme braniac, and he hangs out with someone 2 years younger than him, and with someone named Doolittle. Going back to Eddie, he is abnormally smart-his lowest grade is a 96%. But the catch is, he loves sports. He is virtually obsessed with professional football which is not something you would think of when you see him. He is approximately 5'8" and skinny. And he has brown hair that's very messy. When people think of him, they think of a genius guy that hates Microsoft. He takes random facts in his "Fun-Fact Book", and always thinks outside the box, sometimes too much. He calls himself "a nerd that likes sports". Is this accurate or is their a better name for his condition?
