Since you can't really do anything about the uniform, you can start to improve your overall appearance by jazzing up your hair. If your hair is natually curly, then staighten it. If it's naturally staight then add some waves. Maybe get a nice french manicure to spiffen up your nails. Do your make-up nicely, you don't want to over-do it though just because you think it will make up for the lame uniform.

Well, no messing with the uniform usually means, "we want you to all look alike," so chances are, if you messed with the uniform to the point that you looked stylish (if possible!), you'd probably get called on it. Now, if what you might do to spice it up isn't specifically addressed in the rules, you could, technically, get away with it, but all you would be doing would be creating a negative impression with your employer and be tagged a difficult employee. If you want the job, it's probably better just to play along and look like crap.......just go for great makeup, hair and nails, if they let you wear nailpolish.

Depends on what kind of uniform you're wearing. I had to wear a smock when I worked at a clothing store, for example....and I spiced it up with wearing alot of buttons (kinda like "flair" in Office Space). Doesn't sound like your workplace will go for that though. I'd recommend some really interesting jewelry...wear a bunch of colorful bracelets or a chunky necklace. Anything that contrasts with your uniform (bright if your uniform is neutral or dark, and vice versa) will help you stand out.

well not much you can do
my school had to buy blazers
like £30
both girls and boys have to wear it and its too big for me.
No jewellery allowed, no shiny earrings, skirts have to be knee length and tights not allowed to have patterns.
Shoes must be black and same with coats and bags.
I suggest just wearing bracelets, i wear them even though i'm not allowed. I have a bright blue fluffy scarf and have my hair to the side (not emo though) and i just look very different to everyone else.
Try small accessories, that have less chance of being taken confiscated.

wow, your uniform is worse than mine! anyway, wear funky, bright earrings and necklaces, wear a headband (they're really stylish right now), wear cute shoes, tie a ribbon in your hair, wear shoes with a tiny heel, curl your hair, get your uniform tailored (haha, that's what I do to my skirt and I get my shirts tightened), wear makeup, etc.
