My daughter has told me that Disney pays $100 for the original recalled cover of "The Little Mermaid"(the penis one).I have never heard of this, and I have checked Ebay and they don't sell for any spectacular amount there, but a friend of hers INSISTS he did it and Disney gave him $100.Has anyone heard of this or done it?It sounds like an urban legend to me,but I was just wondering. Thanks in advance!

disney officially denys it ever happened even though they did change artwork. they would never hand out 100 dollars -- they are way too cheap -- they might give crayons if you scream loud enough for something. thats what they do to shup up people who get angry in the parks -- give their kids coloring books -- junk like that. if you stay in a disney room and have a complaint you get a big fat fruit basket of citrus picked in disneys backyard by illegal immigrants. yee haw they are so generous. her friend is a liarmouth and needs a good mickey sized shoe across his backside. i live in the shadow of the giant rat and know his business ethic all too well.

Little Mermaid Cover

I remember the disputed front cover on the original Little Mermaid tapes. However, I haven't heard of any reward for these copies. I checked this out on snopes.com to be sure. This is a good website to check out all urban legends. They didn't have anything posted about a $100 payment but they do have the story about the cover in question. Here is the link: http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/mermaid.htm
Hope this helps.

I'm not sure that Disney would pay, but I have met several avid collecor's of "Disney smut" who would. One of these friends told me that there is a penis-shaped tower on the castle (Little Mermaid), a dust cloud that spells out "sex" (Lion King), a rare copy where Woody says the F-word (Toy Story), a version with actal sexual intercourse between the centaur peope (Fantasia), and a line that says "Take off your clothes" (Aladin)...If one friend told me all of this, I m sure that some Ebay junkie would give you a substantial reward for a copy with the original art. (By the way, when Eric and Skinny-Ursula-in-disguise are getting married, the preacher has an erect penis.

I never heard of disney paying anything out for the penis cover. At one time collectors were paying 60 or $70 for them many years ago, but now most people either forgot about it and the kids who were too young to remember have grown up and don't even know about it
