We recently went and bought quite a few fish off some guy and the catfish he had i thought was going to be small but it is huge compared to the little guy i already have in my tank and he is just bulling my smaller one in a way. he as come so miserable since this bigger arrival,i think it would only be fair to part with the big one.The petshop is my only other option.

well to the one who says the tamest fish in the tank is a plec well i must agree but also have you not heard most plec catfishes are terratorial so that will explain why.They get fed pellets,tablet food,etc plus live food so think they are getting the diet they need.Just the little one seems to go really pale nowadays and i have actually seen the big one going nuts when the little one is out trying to eat some food.He just goes after him.Does not attack,just chases but still the little one does feel intimidated.

Im interested, I have 12 plecs from 2" right up to around 9 or 10" so unless its considerably bigger than that he should fit in. I have several tanks and could put it in the tank that best suited its size (probably the 5 ft tank!)
I can be contacted via my profile;

sorry to ask this, but does he actually harm the other fish? catfish well plecs are very tame, we have a approx a 27cm plec and he is the tamest fish in the tank, he may seem a bully for his size, or maybe u arnt giving him the right amount of food? are u giving him pellets? / fresh cumcumber/frozen peas??

My answer is definitely there is not such aspect as too large of a tank for any fish. the bigger the tank, the added ideal, yet i imagine your case is it truly is in simple terms too small on your fish, so it truly is extra ideal to promote it as well, and in effortless words in touch that because clown loaches and that catfish you're speaking about should be constrained to in effortless words some similar sized tankmates. in case you'll save the loaches, in simple terms purchase a school of the bigger tetras, or some gouramis. you are able to also purchase some angelfish in case you want. a three ft tank is round fifty gallons, similar as my angelfish tank. So persist with the a million inch in holding with gallon rule.

You need to mention where you live because only people who can drive to get there will be potential takers.
