i bought a dell optiplex gx270 second hand. it was advertised as a combo.?

will i be able to copy dvd's from it and cd's

Not necessarily, you need to check the specification of the drive. You can do it in the control panel.

A Dell with a combo drive is normaly a CD-RW/DVD combo witch meens it will burn a cd but just play a DVD it won't burn a DVD but you can watch a DVD. And that will be the same with any Dell desktop or Laptop

no, a combo drive plays dvds and records cds.
