Everytime I try to open certain programs this error message appears:

"Certain Program" caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 016f:bff7b9a6.

If I re-install it the same thing continues to happen. I have scanned for errors in my registry and fixed most of them but this error doesnt change and my programs arent working.

There are about a million reasons you might be having problems with KERNEL32.DLL. Here are some websites that might help you out:

One possible cause could be a bogus spyware application that is interfering with your computer's normal operation. If you don't have a commerical-grade spyware scanner installed already, try doing a free scan to see what gets uncovered. I personally prefer XoftspySE when it comes to robust, reliable spyware scanners. The free scanners work well for some things, but I have had problems getting rid of certain problems using them.

You can get a free scan here:

What do you mean you *found* errors in your registry and *fixed* them? Did you go through with a sledgehammer randomly deleting stuff?

KERNEL32.DLL is the kernel - that's the most important part of Windows. Think of it like the reactor in a nuclear power plant, or the flight control system in a plane. Whatever your trying to run is trying to do something to the kernel that it doesn't like. Possible solutions are:

a) Change the kernel - nope, can't do that.
b) Change the software - bingo!

File kernel32.dll is the most critical component of Windows operating system. It is Windows Kernel, which is responsible for system functions, controls memory, various devices, manages threads, works with file systems and processor, etc. Without it you won't be able to start Windows operating system. however this file can be used by malware. try to run antivirus and antispyware scans and check if thet find anything.
you may also try to format your computer, that is always the solution in situation like yours.
