Where can I find some good factual information on the debate over who should control Jerusalem?

I am preparing a Muslims vs. Christians debate on who should control Jerusalem... I have no idea about either side of the debate... I am supposed to take the Christian side.. so does anyone have any opinions and information on the feud?

P.s I am doing the positive statements, so i am not trying to tear down the other side, just give good reasons for why the Christians should control Jerusalem.

Sorry, but I had meant the debate back in the time around 1050... not present day... lol, big leave out huh? but thats ok, it doesn't matter anymore
