Your cat is just showing you how much it likes you. Cat's have many ways of showing their affection and rubbing up against your leg is one of them. They will also rub their chins on stuff in your house and sometimes you, because they have scent glands under their chin and by rubbing their chin on everything, they are marking their territory and saying "hey this is mine!".

Well, first off, don't get me wrong; I ADORE cats, and while they do love you, what your cat is doing is marking you. They have little scent glands on their temples and that's why they rub the sides of their heads on things. They're marking their territory saying, "this is mine!" So, actually, by your cat marking you, she is saying she loves you because she's telling all the other cats that you belong to her!

She's scent marking you. Cat's have scent glands in there neck. When they rub things it's to mark their territory or that thing as theirs. It's a complement, she doesn't want any other cats trying to steal you.

That is how cats mark their territory by rubbing against things to leave behind their scent. You can't smell it but it's their way of saying "that's mine."

My cat does that all the time but cats are different. Sometimes cat do that because they are hungry, they might even want you to pet them, and it could be possible they have an itch.

Here's your answer, short and simple. He's showing affection, and is putting his scent on you to show other cats that you're his.

your cat loves you. Show it a little more attention and it may be more content. Better your cat than a strainge man right?
