Joe_on_drums, you are right. The same thing happened in a big spelling bee I had a while ago. I'm second to last one up, and all of a sudden I hear this... WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! And this keeps going on all through the spelling bee. Now the reason they're here, their son is in the spelling bee. Soon this guy's sisters arrive, and both of these sisters are what, 17 and they both have like 3 babies. So now theres around 7 babies yelling WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! All the parents are just standing there like statues and not doing crap. The principal clearly said at the beginning of the bee "If you have little ones and the start to get cranky, please take them out into the hall.". So they're still standing there even though the principal told them to leave 3 times already, typical for the albino village idiots that everybody considered them to be.. So the whole bee, I had to listen to WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! That's the story of my spelling bee.

A baby crying in the library, store or restaurant with two normal hearing parents standing by patiently ignoring him/her.
This "reverse psychology" to let a baby think that it doesn't bother the parents is a losing battle. While crying and whining is being ignored by the people who can control it, it is annoying to everyone else since we don't want to ignore them...WE WANT THEM TO SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!!!!
