You can find someone to take over your contract. They will take over your contract (and get their own personal number), and once they do that you are no longer responsible for the EFT even if they decide to cancel before the contract is up. If you go with this method you won't be able to port your number to any other carrier.

This is very difficut. I used to work for Sprint, so I know... You generally have to pay for the early termination fee. If you move where there is no coverage, then that is the easiest way... Since I don't know your specific complaints, I can't really give you much help. What I would do, is I would call customer service and say that you want to cancel your contract. The first representative won't be able to do anything, so keep saying that you want to cancel until they transfer you to cancellations. That's the department that tries to talk you out of canceling, so tell them your complaints. There are a few situations that will let you cancel without having to pay the fee... If nothing else, they should offer you deals or do things to solve your complaints, 'cause they don't want to lose you as a customer. If they aren't offering you anything that you are interested in and you don't want to pay the money and actually cancel, then you might just want to randomly hang up. If they do call you back (some do, some don't), then just don't answer! Know, however, that the representative does write down what you talk about, so if you do try to talk to someone else, they will have access to those notes and will be able to see if you are just fishing for stuff. Good luck!

I used to work for another carrier and the ONLY way for someone to cancel without paying the early termination fee would be if they were moving out of an area not covered by us. If this isnt the case, youre probably not going to get out of it. You may speak to one of Sprints higher-ups and tell them why you are cancelling, etc, but I dont think it'll do much good.
