I refer to them as "plastic" people. They are so insecure, that they will form themselves into their idea of what they think other people expect them to be. Consequently, they may say all the things that, for example, a truly compassionate person would say, but somehow, they sound insincere, or their actions will prove them to be so. I consider people like this to be very sad on one hand, and very dangerous on the other. They are manipulating people by hiding who they are, and if they are exposed, they can become very vindictive.

To me, I think that most people are called "fake" because they are up on a pedastal to the person who is judging them. Because the only times I have heard people talk about tohers as being "fake" it seems that they are either jealous or they are insecure with themselves.
So I think it would be a complament in a way to that person

Other than that, some people seem fake just by how they act. Because you can really tell when someone isnt acting themselves.. they almost seem insecure with their "new identity" and act odd.

Plus if someone has acted a certain way for a portion of say high school, then suddenly change.. then you would probably get some negative judgement at first, BUT dont worry about it because people just like to have something to talk about.. it wont even matter after say a week.

Be kind to Fakes. They are afraid of life and other people who have the ability to crush them with one word and so can definitely do it with an opinion about them. They just don't think anyone would like the real them. They don't think their true selves are good enough to be liked and loved. They need protection. They pretend to be something that they think will get all that done for them by faking everybody out. They shouldn't be hurt. It's sad. Pity them. No use trying to compliment them because they don't hear. Pray that they find a person they can let inside their heart that will accept them as they really are, before they die alone.

They usually think very highly of themselves OR have low self-esteem. The first type say and do things to reinforce their self-image. Think of the narcissist sitting in front of a mirror stroking their hair or making different facial expressions to admire how good they look at different times. I think of these people as Jackasses. The other type is so worried you won't like them, they try as hard as they can to act like somebody else that they perceive as popular or worse yet, just make it up as they go fishing for the story, speech pattern, or act, etc. that will impress you. These are your Losers. Avoid them both at all costs.

When a person is living their life to suit their external environment instead of their inner selves, that person is fake. The person that they are when they are butt naked in the bathroom singing off key and loving every moment of it. Pleasing only them and no one else. That is their real selves.

When they smile, run, jump or do any other action with their body that would require some sort of movement...and nothing does.
