I actually don't think they will. They have Vlad. They already signed Gary Matthews Jr. And, if anything, they would probably try to strengthen their pitching rotation. So no, I don't think they'll get another bat, and if they do, it won't be a big one.

I haven't heard anything, and there isn't a whole lot left out there. I think they are happy with their position players. Having committed to Kendrick at 2b, Hillenbrand at 1b, I don't see any glaring needs for them. I'm sure either Mathis or Napoli will do the job behind the plate, so all they would probably consider would be a veteran DH/ PH type, like maybe Phil Nevin. Like I said, I have not heard any rumors, but that would be my guess... if anything, they would just go for an older role player like that. I am a Twins fan and was a little disappointed that we didn't bring Nevin back in that same role.

Matthews was signed for his glove in center and not his bat. There are not of guys out there worth signing at this point. I'm affraid Vlad will be their power source once again.

They should, since Juan Rivera, who had a fine season last year, just broke his leg on a venezuelan winter league game. He will be out for three months, or maybe four, before rehab.
