www.wisden.com may be able to help if he played county cricket.
Wisden publish a yearly almanack going back to 1864 if you can get
your hand on a back copy it will show all his records.
Some clubs keep all scorebooks going back to the year dot,suggest you contact Aston CC or make visit if they are still playing I am sure
they will help also..
You might also visit Warwicks &Somerset they will have all records
of all games and players history.

Contact the clubs. Get some information about any surviving teammates or there relatives, contact them if you can.
