The question is a little bit strange. It is the same question as if I would ask you: "Is it easy to deal with people from Texas if I don't talk english?".

Austrians speak german (it's a slightly different dialect, but it is german anyway).

Austrians and Germans tend to speak english quite well, so you shouldn't have a problem.

Only sentence you have to learn is: "Bringen Sie mir bitte ein Wiener Schnitzel und 2 Halbe Bier vom Fass! Und zwar schnell!". Then everything is fine...

If you are in the major cities such as Vienna, you will have no problem communicating as nearly everyone speaks some English.

A lot of them speak English, so it shouldn't be a problem to communicate with them.
