2KClO3 ----->> 2KCl +3O2
Potassium Chlorate ------>>Potassium Chloride + Water

THIS IS THE CORRECT SPELLING OF EQUAL

I don't think you want to use and = sign but rather an arrow which you would read as yields.

After heating, Potassium Chlorate (KClO3) decomposes into Potassium Chloride (KCl) and Oxygen gas (O2).

2 KClO3 --heat--> 2 KCl + 3 O2
For every 2 moles of KClO3 which decompose, 2 moles of KCl and 3 moles of O2 are formed.

In this type of reaction, an arrow (-->) is more advisable to use rather than an equal sign (=). Sometimes, as short hand on the computer, you can use an equal sign to indicate a reversible reaction (also indicated by <-->), but this is not the case in this reaction. Use an arrow to indicate the definite direction of the reaction, KClO3 decomposes to yield KCl and O2.

KClO3 = KCl + O2
This equation does not balance, because there are three oxygens to start and only two in the products!!!!

So to balance:-

2KClO3 = 2KCl + 3O2

NB
Reactant Products
2 x K = 2 x K
2 x Cl = 2 x Cl
2 x O3 = 3 x O2

The number of reacting atoms is the same as the number of product atoms. In balancing equations you are NOT allowed to 'gain' or 'loose' atoms.

NB 'EAQAL' is correctly spelt as 'EQUAL'.
