First of all, who is 'they'? I didn't know that someone wanted to cut lunches. It's in the kids' best interest to have a lunch program. The funding of which is up for debate, but I think we can all agree that little Billy needs a good nutritious lunch so that he can learn how to spell words, such as SCHOOL.

They shouldn't. Especially depending on the grade level. At elementary school kids need the mental break. It's hard enough to get young children to sit still for any substantial amount of time. Without a lunch break it just wears them down.
High school students should have the choice. When I was in high school I had the option of taking a lunch or getting early dismissal from school. I chose the latter, especially since school lunch is mucho expensivo. But the younger children should be allowed their lunch.

I hope they don't. To all the little whiners, who like to complain about the quality of the food that is served in cafeterias: Do you realize this is the only decent meal some of your classmates get all day? If they did away with school (and by the way, there is an H in school) lunches, those children would just go hungry. So, if you spoiled brats don't like what's being served, brown bag it!

I know at my kids school, I think that the amount that they charge for their very small, most of the time nasty-tasting meals is atrocious! I wouldn't mind if they cut the school lunches out entirely and made people pack. At least I would get what I pay for and they'd be more willing to eat what I'd send with them!
