i'm going away in a few weeks to an award evening its formal dress
been trying to think of some thing to wear
1 trousers and top
2 dress
3 skirt and top
classy but not over the top because i would like to wear the outfit again
any ideas please

If it's formal I'd say you can't go wrong with a black dress.

If it is formal, you need to wear a dress. Separates aren't formal for the most part. Wear the dress. It's always better to overdress.

Dresses are very fashionable these days and they don't have to be too dressy, it's a cool trend you could stick to, in variety of colors and fabrics, I'll recommend you a knee long dress with the right accessories and shoes, a long necklace would be cool!
