Basically, the bathroom no longer works, and I can no longer wash my hands or have any water to drink. While this may be cool in 3rd world countries, we are supposed to have certain rights as workers in the United States. Let me know if this is one of them please.

I think there's a time limit, if the water is off for two minutes you don't get to go home for the day, but if it stays off then they aren't providing a safe working environment and you get to head home and still get paid.

If you hate your job, go ahead. Youll be recognized but in a bad way. If you want to help. Suggest or volunteer (on company time of course) to help resolve the issue. Example: call local bottled water distributor, check for local plumbers, call the water department for an explanation. OSHA would be the contact of choice, unless you're not working in an OSHA state.

as long as they have potable water and restroom facilities that you can use, then I believe they meet the requirement.

if it's for a short period of time due to a repair or emergency, I don't think you'd have too much to work on... well, you may have a lot of free time, as they may let you go.

I would contact your state labor board....I would also contact a lawyer to see what undue hardships you can file in court if you are trying to sue...Plus if I were you i would take some pictures as well as evidence( a cellphone camera would do)...
