It doesn't matter.

If you get pulled away by a rip tide, just swim parallel to the shore for about 50-100 feet and swim back to shore with the back eddie.

My younger brother got stupid and paniced in Mexico a few years back and nearly killed himself trying to swim against the original current that pulled him out.

to about the inlet. the place with all the rocks.
just swim paralell with the current and eventually you'll get out.
