I live my life with the belief there is a God. I am a happy friendly person and try to always be a good person.
So even if there is no afterlife I still benefit from this belief in this life.

Some feel your question is out of category. I don't, politics is fueled by religion and religion by politics. If death is the end and I have helped others even in the smallest way I don't feel cheated for something I missed. However I do personally feel there is more after the vessel is empty of life.

If there is no afterlife then all life is meaningless. If I become a millionaire or if I become a bum on the street, it will not matter. "All things will pass away" and all things will be forgotten. If there is no afterlife, no pain, nor any happiness, I experience will matter in the least.

Not mine.
And yes, as long as you want to use my tax dollars to fund abortion and stem cell, this issue belongs in politics.
And, of course, I know that YOU, as a libertarian do not want to use tax dollars to fund abortion or embryonic stem cell research.
But these issues will not be resolved until the states get to vote on them. As pursuant to the US Constitution, 10th Amendment. And if the 50 states vote to keep abortion legal, as well as fund stem cell research, then us Christians will have to shut up or die like we do in the rest of the 3rd world countries.

I don't know but I believe you can make this earth heaven or hell - it just depends on your outlook on life.
In a way, even if you don't believe in a spiritual afterlife, your memory and your contributions will live on in the people whose lives you changed with every one of your actions.

Is this a question about religion in the politics section?
Since the government can pass laws concerning stem cell research and abortion, yes they should be in the politics section. There should, however, be a distinction between church and state. This is a democracy, not a theocracy.

I'd rather live my life believing there is a God and die to find out there is not one, than to live my life believing there is No God, and die finding out there IS one.
