Why doesn't America accept bands that are amazing (like Jamiroquai), when they are huge in every other country?

I am from the UK and this is a really lame question!

Jamiroquai are dull these days anyway and do they even chart here any more?

I can answer a different question - why do some bands find the USA hard to break, well there are a lot of different states and popularity in one of them doesn't necessarily mean you are popular in all. Well, I am told this is part of the reason.

To generalize Americans for their taste in music as lame is unmerited. The United States have more diversity then any other country in the world. Even what listeners hear on public radio various from the southern regions, Midwest, to the east and west coast. I’m an American, what is considered popular in my country doesn’t mean that’s the only music I enjoy. Music videos and the Internet have open me up to more music genres from all over the world. My play list have artists from Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, France, Taiwan, South Korea as well as the United States. Even if I didn’t like Jamiroquai, it is my right not to do so. There are artists all over the world that I like that don’t hit mainstream anywhere, not just the United States.

I'm lame because I have a foot injury. If you want to know about my music preferences, ask a nonjudgmental question. Personally, I like most music, but violent rap is my least favorite. Some of the artists I like don't have a big fan base here, so I order from abroad. Why don't you, if you're here and your favorites aren't.

They aren't!

The musical culture over here is completely different from other countries. Just because something is not popular over here doesn't mean it is not bad it's just that musical tastes are very different. Doesn't make Americans lame....

If you like a band, go ahead and like them. Who cares if they aren't popular in other countries? Music is all about choice and personal taste. Why impose something on someone that doesn't want it...?

What are you talking about? I am AMERICAN and I LOVE JAMAROQUAI and own albums of the group! Furthermore, my friend loves them too. Don't lump all Americans together when you don't know all of the facts about all Americans. There might be some lame Americans (just like I am sure wherever you are from there are lame people there too), but I am NOT one of them. :(

because its just not popular in the us hip hop and rnb is the predominent music in most countries at the moment because it is being churned out and mass produced.
