Is there a more effective herbal remedy for memory loss than ginkgo biloba?

Vinpocetine, from the plant vinca minor. Product was first developed in eastern Europe, is now being studied and used in US research as an aid in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and Meniere's syndrome.

Vinpocetine aids blood circulation in the brain.

It is not necessarily more effective than ginkgo. Both are worth a trial. Neither is guaranteed. Probably best to try them one at a time in order to observe the results and gauge level of helpfulness.

Ginkgo is slow-acting, requires a 3-month trial. I'd give vinpocetine the same period of time.

There are prescription medications for memory loss. The patient must be under a doctor's care. Such doctor may not have heard of vinpocetine, but he or she would be able to find references in medical journals.

Wishing the very best to the patient with the problem.

Try Goji Juice. It seems to be the fad right now for pretty much everything.
