Well, that's a good question! "Minute" doesn't refer to 1 minute, but just minute in general. It doesn't say "One Minute Rice". It takes 5 minutes becuase the word "Minute" makes people think 1 minute, when really its just a board statement.

as in minutes instead of 20-24 minutes for long rice or 10-15 for regular-

It doesn't say it only takes one minute, its call minute rice because it only takes 5 min...Maybe they should have call it minutes rice.
