I've stayed at many hotel on I Drive and it all depends on your budget.
The Quality Inn International is a great base hotel. It's your average motel style hotel so nothing to right home about but it's in a great spot.
It's near where the cross road is where the big McDonald's is. A couple of doors down from Denny's.
We have stayed their a couple of times and liked it.
For a bigger budget the Wyndham is nice. It's on the cross road again over the road from Walgreens.
It's lovely. Landscaped gardens with a lagoon, great pool, nice rooms. We stayed here when we got married their a couple of years ago and would love to go back.
I've always liked the look of the Doubletree Castle Hotel. It's the pink castle with turrets near the lobster restaurant. I've not been in it but it looks great fun, especially if you've got kids.
We had an experience with the Ramada. Don't stay there, it need a refurbishment. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls of the bedroom. Not great.
The Quality Inn Plaza has a great position so I would like that should be ok.
The Peabody is supposed to be nice but it's fairly expensive and mainly aimed at the business men crowd as it's fairly near the convention centre. It's right down the other end of I Drive and a bit of a trek really.
I'm going back again this year, finger crossed, and budget allowing I would like the Wyndham but if I can't afford it I will definately go for Quality Inn International.

I have stayed at the Holiday Inn with the tower (can't remember specifics, but has an indoor pool and outdoor pool, and great hamburgers when eating in the bar). It provides shuttle service and you can catch the trolley right outside, which came in very handy when sampling the nightlife on I-drive. It was a great deal (49/night) and good location. Hope this helps.

If you want more high dollar pricing, try the Wyndham or the Peabody. :)

I really enjoyed staying at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, located on International Drive, a few years ago. Here is a link: http://www.rosenplaza.com/

Their pool is beautiful and their rooms are very spacious. They have a large conference center where conventions and other meetings take place and their staff is friendly.
