It is perfectly safe for you to have another baby, as long as you get prenatal care. The doctor will probably perform a cerclage, and that usually takes care of the problem.
But you should also be prepared for limited activity that may be prescribed by your doctor. It could be as simple as a lifting restriction or as much as hospital bedrest. Anything in this range could possibly put you out of work and raise your hospital bills during your pregnancy. His prescriptions could come not just from your cervix, but also from other complications that could add to your high risk of miscarrying or delivering a premature baby.
With good planning and prenatal care, your pregnancy will be fine and you will have a healthy, full term baby.

You can have another baby.
"The treatment for an incompetent or weakened cervix is a procedure that sews the cervix closed to reinforce the weak cervix. This procedure is called a cerclage and is usually performed between week 14-16 of pregnancy. These sutures will be removed between 36-38 weeks to prevent any problems when you go into labor. Removal of the cerclage does not result in spontaneous delivery of the baby. A woman would not be eligible for a cerclage if:
* There is increased irritation of the cervix
* The cervix has dilated 4cm
* Membranes have ruptured
Possible complications of cervical cerclage include uterine rupture, maternal hemorrhage, bladder rupture, cervical laceration, preterm labor and premature rupture of the membranes. The likelihood of these risks is very minimal, and most health care providers feel that a cerclage is a life saving procedure that is worth the possible risks involved."

You can have babies. I have an incompetent cervix and I am 8 months pregnant right now. At 4 months they put a couple of stiches in my cervix and when I am 37 wks they will be taking the stiches out. The doctor said I could have the baby early or I might carry until the end of my pregnancy

You can have a baby with an incomptent cervix...they just put a stitch in your cerclage to hold it shut...when you get close to your due date they take the stitch out and more than likely you will go into labour soon..

You can have a baby, they will just have to put a stitch in to keep your cervix closed. My aunt had an incompotent cervix and had three healthy kids..

No. I think it means that if you do get pregnant, you will need a stitch to keep your cervix closed.

You can have another baby. They will do a cerclage, where they sew your cervix up.
