I had to wear a man neck-tie at my previous job, during the summer, with a broken a/c & long-sleeved shirt....uggh! Ever since then they frighten me

Occasionally I do wear a necktie as was required to do so. I do not really have an issue with it, it is uncomfortable (but then the necktie was never to be a comfortable thing either) at times though. Long sleeve shirt, long pants and necktie is considered a normal attire for men.

I stay in a tropical country, where the weather is warm throughout the year unless its the rainy season (which still is humid), so wearing a long sleeve shirt and necktie can be challenging.

Some places I have worked at and also attended courses will require the men to wear formal, and not allowed to roll the sleeve up plus the pants and shirt collar must be of a good fit (for the collar, practically no gap between the neck and collar, which means the men will be suffocating or choking slightly) throughout the working/course hours.

I have once participated in a choir, and ladies are allowed to wear sleeveless and collarless shirt to beat the heat from the warm weather but we men have to dress up formally. We have to dress up in proper fitting long sleeve shirt, all buttons to be fastened including the sleeves and collar and the necktie to be tightly snug at the collar at all times. The practice and performance venue wasn't air-conditioned and we male choir members were obviously suffering, sweating and desperately gasping for air for the hour long performance (practice sessions were worst). We men were even penalized several times when we fidget too much (like touching our neck/collar to wipe off sweat, grasping the collar). Our conductor, who was a female and was comfortably dressed without a sleeve or collar wouldn't even bother less about our tight attire that was making us uncomfortable and unable to perform to our best.

These are the times when the necktie becomes something to fear of.

I have asked why is it men have to abide to stricter dress code, the answers I get is usually:-
(1) to look better (more professional, which is somehow true)
(2) to improve on ethics, men wearing tight collar with necktie tends to be more well behaved (as the choking sensation will cause him to speak/argue less, and reminds him that he has to complete his task/purpose)

I like Petunias use, but otherwise I'm scared stiff of them! I can't walk through Dillards anymore, I know the ties are mocking me when I pass the mens department. Even the clip-on ties scare me!
