If America leaves NOW, indeed Iraq will return to chaos. We promised Iraq, and the American people we would not leave, until they can stabilize their own country. They are not ready yet, they are new to democracy, it takes time! Our soldiers know this, and they are willing to help Iraq. No one learns quickly how to defend their home without a lot of practice. We must be patient with them. Our own forefather's took over 50 years just learning themselves, alone. Iraq can do this, can be free, and make their country great, with our help, but they also must follow the guidelines of being a free nation, and not abuse our gift to them, which is the sacrifice of our own people;ie soldiers.
Chaos can be rectified, but to be so, a country needs organization, and agreement. We have agreement now, but organization, as in every aspect of life, takes more time, but it will be done! Patience, please. It is the first rule you must achieve, before entering Heaven.

The major problem in pulling out of Iraq is that it leaves an example behind in the Muslim world that the U.S. is evil. If we don't bring peace and prosperity to Iraq, radicals will always point to Iraq as proof the America is bad and must be eliminated.
In that way, a pull out without resolving the civil unrest can cause an escalation in terrorist activity. Pulling out now just leaves a bunch of death and destruction for no reason.

A civil war is a war in which parties within the same culture, society or nationality fight against each other for the control of political power.
Essentially, Iraq is in a civil war already.

True it is in chaos now but if we leave it will go right down the toilet. Basically anyone who ever aligned themselves with the U.S. goverment would become fair game, this includes all the people in government.
That's too bad because we need to go anyways, we can't stay there forever and what we need to do there to make the situation right we aren't willing to do.
Dude, the muslim world already thinks we're evil and that's not going to change no matter what we do. So please stop trying to appease them...they're still going to hate our guts!

Yes, it would break out in chaos - as opposed to the tranquil, peaceful Candyland it is now.

Probably the Shiites who make up 80% of the population will take control. the country needs to be divided into three states. All hell will break loose with unlimited killing.

The chaos in Iraq can be smaller if the USA army go out from there and let the United Nations instead.
