why is it that when you wear a hat you can still feel it on your head hours after taking it off?

this doesn't happen with gloves or trousers does it!

It must be the amount of pressure and sweatiness..... Here are some other examples of "ghost wear":

necktie
shoes
socks
condom

Maybe its due to the subtle indentation left by the hat in your hair that creates the 'ghost hat' effect. That would account for it not happening with trousers etc.
