The Monster That Challenged the Earth, a late-'50's science-fiction thriller about atomically-mutated giant sea slugs. Saw it in the theater, black & white, huge, nasty, slimy, fanged creatures rearing up 15 feet high, I ran up the theater aisle three times to the lobby to get away from them---
Watched it again recently---still creepy and nasty. But at least I was ready for them.

The 1977 ('79?) remake of King Kong. I was 10, it was rainy and windy, I was sick, and the Neighbors tree looked like a silouhette of a giant gorilla.
