Okay this is totally true, once when I was 17, I had to move out of my house where I lived with my best friend, because her pyscho boyfrined moved in and when he finished beating her up, one time he battered me too.
Though I had a job, I was totally skint and had no family and no where to go, so I went to a young persons homeless place, and they put me in a B n B until a hostel place came up. I had NO money, not even enough for food, as travelling the eight miles from the hostel to work every day almost exceeded what I was earning.
Then I got a visit saying they had found me a place to stay, in a shared house (which I could ONLY just afford) and that the landlord would not require a deposit from me. Oh joy of joys, it was two streets from my job!
Anyway, I was penniless, and I mean I had about five quid to last until my next pay day five days later, but I needed to get my stuff from the hostel to my new digs, so I rang a taxi, but that only covered the first like two miles, so I had to jump out, and drag my binbags the rest of the way there.
Well the damn things split didn't they, and my stuff was all over the shop. I had about an hour to get back before I had to be at work again, and I had just had enough, so I sat in my big pile of stuff on the path and just cried my eyes out.
Then a car pulled up, and a guy leaned out and asked me if I was okay. I sorta just laughed and said yeah I'm fine really sarcastic, and he asked me if I needed some help and a lift somewhere.
Well, getting into a car with a totally random guy when I'm obviously vunerable and not thinking straight, SO STUPID, and no one else do it please, but I really needed some help, and the way my luck was going, I would not have been surprised at all if he did kill me, but he listened to my story of woe, took me to Macdonalds (hadn't eaten since the day before and man that was best Macdonalds I have ever tasted) and he gave me £20 too.
I know what you are all thinking, what he did he get for his £20 eh? Well nothing, nor did anything like that cross my mind. He was such a good guy, he told me about his wife and daughter, and gave me his business card so I could return the money when I was back on my feet.
What an ace dude, I can't remember his first name, but his surname was Allbright. so Mr Allbright, if you are reading this, thanks again from the crying girl in Kettering.

I have two. When I was in grade school my dad had made me a cold lunch. When I got to school they were serving hot lunch. I of course wanted the pizza or whatever they were serving. Walking home I saw a homeless man. I felt bad, but kept walking. Then I remembered I didn't eat my lunch. So I ran across the street and gave him my sandwich, chips and my thermos. I didn't think anything of it. When I got home, I got spanked because my dad said he made the lunch for me not some bum, and that the thermos cost me money.
Surprisingly that kinda solidified me wanting to help people. Just recently my girlfriend and I got in a fight. I was so pissed going to work I was nearly in tears. I saw a homeless man on the corner where I was waiting at a red light. I honked at him, and gave him all the money I had. It was only about 6 bucks, change included, but I tell you what I felt good, I called my girlfriend and apologized, and went on to have a great day.
Kindness is it's own reward.

Over the years have done many things taken people in. Given them food or money a shoulder. Sometimes it feels right to do something. And I nevrr forget when someone does somethin nice for me like the lady who paid for my cup of tea when I was really cold and the assistant would ot take my note. Or the two guys on two seperate occassions helped e when my car died. t does give you that little bit of faith.

if only there were more people like you the world would be a better place. most people are out for the take nowadays and its a crying shame that people would scoff at the like of you or me. when i go shopping i always buy a "big issue" from the sellers because at least they are trying to make a bob or two. i will always give to beggars asking for money too. i see myself as well off compared to these people and feel for them deeply for the lifestyle they lead. i am a Sunday school teacher that gives to charities through church. and i work in a special school and always ready to offer support in any fund raising event too. i hope nobody reads this and criticise me, i am not bragging i am answering your question that's all x

Yes, I did volunteer work for 6 years visiting old people's
homes in two states. I use to take ladies out for a walk in their wheel chair, because they had no family. I sat and heard them tell me all their problems and they looked forward to my weekly visit. I use to take them little gifts occassionally and to see the joy in their hearts, really made me feel good and happy for them. I am a giving person and I get much greater joy in giving than receiving, even though I don't reap the same. If we all practice kindness towards each other without expecting anything back in return, it will certianly make this world a better place to live. God bless you for your kind deeds. Keep it up

An act of kindness does wonders for the giver , even more than the receiver , it is inherant in most humans , but the harsh world we live in, hardens us from the realitys . Its nice to know some people are still human out there well done

I have many times, on one occasion I passed by a broken down 18 wheeler, I went to next exit went back, he had been trying to get help for over 3 hours, he was out of fuel, he had 3 5 gallon diesel cans, he gave me the money for the diesel and I went and got it for him, I asked for nothing in return, well low amd behold he stopped in the truck stop that I worked at and he and his wife brought me in a nice thank you card with 50.00 in it and a dozen roses. WOW, I tried to get them to take the money back, but they wouldnt, so on my way home from work I stopped at the nursing home and gave them the dozen roses.... Also one year for the holidays when I was still in highschool I went to the hospital and dressed as an elf and passed out goodies to all the patients at the hospital and spent time with the children, I find doing things like this so rewarding.... The list goes on and on ....

I always open doors for people or hold them open. I once helped someone change a tyre on their car i didnt even know them they were just struggling. Also helped push a car that a young family were struggling with on a busy dual carriage way. I once walked a female friend home (a 5 mile round trip for me) in torrential rain and gale force winds in mid winter, there were no taxis and it was in a city so i refused to let her go alone.
I cant help it i just feel that its polite not to ignore people around you, i havent had much in return i seem to get ignored!!

I help people when i can. Usually when they have car problems or if they ask for food. I always give to the homeless. One dollar isn't a big deal. I piss away so much money when i go out to clubs. Being nice feels great. But when it comes to business or your credit don't' do any favors.

giving is a wondeful thing, I am not a wealthy man but I try to give my time wherever possible, if it's just to help someone with their garden or to sit with them or whatever. I am pretty lucky to have practical abilities and i like to share and help people. I'ts hard for some to get things done. If my life is spent helping then it's a good life.
