The best soup I ever had was a salmon bisque at the Seven Glaciers, mountaintop restaurant lovated at the summit of Alyeska mountain in Girdwood Alaska. The restaurant is a five star formal attire restaurant, but honestly I didn't feel that the food itself was all that great.

Had a "sopa de limas" (lime soup) at an outdoor cantina, while visiting the ruins in Yucatan, Mexico. It had chicken, limes (a special variety only grown there), cilantro, and vegetables in it. I've been trying to reproduce it at home, but have never gotten it right b/c I can't find the right citrus here in the States...

I always remember one I had at a restaurant in Santiago (Chile). I am from Argentina. It had a meat base, the broth was quite dark, and it had plenty of vegetables, beans.... I won't be of help because I don't know the recipe, but just wanted to share it because I had it like 15 years ago and still remember it!!
