There were two; one from Elvis and one from Barbara Streisand:

Memories
Elvis Presley
(words & music by Bill Strange - Scott Davis)

Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine
Quiet thought come floating down
And settle softly to the ground
Like golden autumn leaves around my feet
I touched them and they burst apart with sweet memories,
Sweet memories
Of holding hands and red bouquets
And twilight trimmed in purple haze
And laughing eyes and simple ways
And quiet nights and gentle days with you
Memories, pressed between the pages of my mind
Memories, sweetened thru the ages just like wine,
Memories, memories, sweet memories

Barbra Streisand
Memory

Midnight
Not a sound from the pavement
Has the moon lost her memory
She is smiling alone
In the lamplight
The withered leaves collect at my feet
And the wind begins to moan
Memory, all alone in the moonlight
I can dream of the old days
Life was beautiful then
I remember the time I knew what happiness was
Let the memory live again
Every street lamp seems to beat
A fatalistic warning
Someone mutters and the street lamp sputters
Soon it will be morning
Daylight
I must wait for the sunrise
I must think of a new life and
I mustn't give in
When the dawn comes
Tonight will be a memory too
And a new day will begin
Burnt out ends of smoky days
The stale court smell of morning
A street lamp dies
Another night is over
Another day is dawning
Touch me,
It is so easy to leave me
All alone with the memory
Of my days in the sun
If you'll touch me,
You'll understand what happiness is
Look, a new day has begun...

There are two Memories songs. Barbra Streisand sang them both.

One is from the movie The Way We Were: Memories, misty water colored memories, of the way we were...

The other is from Cats: Memories, all alone in the moonlight, I can smile at the old days, I was beautiful then. I remember the time I know what happiness was. Let the memory live again.

The Lettermen had a hit with "Memories" in 1970, later covered by Elvis Presley.
The Barnara Streisand record people are citing was "Memory" in the early 1980s.

Barbra Streisand did a song called "The Way We Were" (which starts out with the lines:

"Memories,
Like the corners of my mind
Misty water-colored memories
Of the way we were"

She also did a version of "Memory", from "Cats"

You might be thinking of "The Way We Were", recorded by Barbara Streisand. The first line is "Memories light the corners of my mind..."

The one from "Cats" is called "Memory," not "Memories," and it has been performed by any number of people; Barbra Streisand, yes, but many, many others.
