I was walking out of class today and these two kids in front of me were almost taking light years to get out of the damn class! Is it physically possible to walk that slow or were they just doing it because they're ignorant bastards?

This is my last "I hate the world" question, from now on it will be happy questions♥

HAHA!! How can you take light years to move? A light year is an extremely fast speed, not a time, because it is the distance light travels in one Earth year. And if they were physically walking that slow, then it's obvious it is physically possible. Now that I've effectively torn apart your choice of wording, I'll give you a proper answer. People walk slow either because they think it's just cool, or because they feel it unecessary to rush. It's as simple as that.

It seems to me like you were in a hurry to get out of class. In any situation it is best to look at the situation directly. If something this little is irritating you , there is actually something bigger going on inside that you are harboring and not willing to admit.

And yes it is physically possible.... to walk slow. I am short.... 4 foot 9 inches of shortness and most of the time I have to speedwalk... which is still slower than taller people's average walking speed. If I walk normal it must seem like molasses pouring out of a jar. Hope this helps.

Yes, they are ignorant bastards. The are completely self-absorbed and oblivious to the fact that other people exist in the world other than themselves. It is even worse when they go to the mall and perform the "mall trance" wherein they walk in front of you at a snail's pace, cut you off and then stop for no reason, force you to move out of their way in order to avoid colliding with them, or just talking on the cell phone as if they were at home on the couch. Such is the evolution of the generation.

i've learned that once you get out of school you find everyone who's not in school walks slow. because were so use to rushing to class and getting to our friends for a quick chat. But they personally were probably to absorbed into there conversation to realize what they were doing.

Perhaps engrossed in conversation? There are many reasons for folks not to hurry..and maybe you are right just to upset someone else. Older people can't help it, they have to slow down. younger people, could simply be a matter of choice.

I am getting p.o.'d just thinking about it!

I good reason to not go to malls. You get those people who come to the mall in a group of 8, and stretch completely across the walkway and walk soooo slow....and you can't get past them either.

I walk fast in school but slow every where else

I think you are right about both reasons, they are being a little inconsiderate.

People always seem to move slower in herds like in classes or amusement parks. I think deep down we are all cattle sometimes, and it is always easier to go with the flow then to go against it.

Many could be the reasons for doing it, but I suspect that they were absorbed in talk and dragged their feet without realizing it.
Be happy, and don't let such happenings spoil your day.

Some do, some don't.

If they're talking to their friends, they'll probably walk slower.
