Your son could be just teething, or wax is irritating him. If you still think he has a infection get another doctor's opinion. My friends pediatrician missed her daughters ear infection for months, finally it took a visit to the ER to find it.

My two year old son just recently started doing that as well. But he is not in pain nor does he complain about it. I did take him to the doctor thinking it might be ear infection but it is NOT! so unless your son has fever or seems to be complaining about his ear there is nothing to worry about. Best wishes.

My son's doc told me most kids do that because they are teething. The nerves run from their gumline all the way up to their ears. Give him stuff for teething and it should help him. Good luck to you!

My daughter did that too, but it was a comfort thing for her. Instead of having a pacifier, she held onto and played with her ears. She's five now, and sometimes when she is starting to go to sleep, she still does it. She also grabs onto mine and my husband's ears, too.

Jaw teeth/molars cause that. My daughter is cutting hers now and my pediatrician said that is what is causing it. He also said that some babies pull their ears for comfort or because it's entertaining. (Pediatrcian said that too.)
