Meiga: Galician for the Spanish maga, literally "female magician," but in Galicia (as interpreted by the author), she is a beneficent and wise witch who is capable of shape-shifting and an important character from Galicia's Celtic folklore.

Night of the Meiga

in the moonlit whirlpool
my green tresses swirl at the whim of the tides
the juice of mussels drips down my arms
as I lick their opal purple shells

after the incantation
the spell is cast in the goblet of orujo
the chorus of voices soars on Atlantic wind
bonfires sparkle on the sand
but I turn west to face eternity

dancing in the dark blue ether
perfumes of pine and eucalyptus
lift my body surrendered to the sky
I sway to the murmur of leaves
and the soft drumming of waves

then my mouth kisses the sea
the taste intoxicates me
and I plunge into fathoms of darkness

in the silence of the lair
his body soothes my ancient longing
until the tide recedes

reluctantly I return to my throne on Montebranco
and wrap the salty mist around my shoulders
tracing the memory of my lover's face
lazy fingers caress
a thousand stars in the sky

sweetly I succumb to dreaming
soon the sun will rise
and the grapes will glisten with morning dew

The word meiga comes from Latin magicus and it is used in Galicia and the provinces of Leon and Asturias, (mainly in Galicia), with the meaning of "person of extraordinary or magical powers and who can agree with the devil". In many aspects they are the equivalent one to the witches.

What a staggering question. faith is, for sure, the variety that one's worship takes. hence there are thousands of varieties. faith incorporates a device of non secular ideals and practices. the article of the religion may be pretend gods or the real God. for this reason, there is pretend faith and there is real. faith can get very fancy or proceed to be easy. contained in the former case, alongside with it really is at present. contained in the latter case, alongside with it become contained in the backyard of Eden. What then is worship to me? How do I worship? To worship ability to obey. And to obey ability to worship. both are in detail linked; certainly, they're coterminous and can't be separated. specifically, to obey the Sovereign Lord God Jehovah of Armies is to worship Him. I do my imperfect suitable in this regard. I fall on my face and get lower back as a lot as attempt to objective lower back. contained in the backyard of Eden, as long as they obeyed Jehovah, Adam and Eve were worshiping him. No temple, no Mosaic regulation, no conferences. basically go away the tree of the understanding of fantastic and undesirable on my own. easy. The minute they disobeyed, they stopped worshiping Jehovah. similar with the country of Israel. The minute they tried to coach a syncretistic faith they stopped worshiping Jehovah. The minute they made the golden calf, they stopped. And on and on. To worship is to obey. To obey is to worship. Hannah J Paul
